Tax & VAT for sellers
How tax works on Galleria (Whop confirmed)
- Galleria checkout = Whop hosted payment screen (opens from the product page).
- Sellers set a list price on the product card. Buyers choose their country before paying.
- VAT and sales tax are calculated automatically from the buyer’s location — EU buyers typically see VAT; many other countries do not.
- List prices are VAT-inclusive: the payment screen shows the final total for that buyer before they pay (+ shipping on physical items).
- You do not need to turn on VAT or change tax settings in Whop for Galleria — checkout handles it.
- Sellers: open Payments Hub → finish verification → set list prices → sell.
- You still own income tax on earnings and import customs paperwork on physical international orders.

Your three steps
- 1
Open Payments Hub + verify
Open Payments Hub from the seller sidebar and finish payout onboarding in the hosted flow for your storefront.
- 2
Set your list price
List price — VAT included where your country requires it at checkout; what you see on the payment screen is what you pay (+ shipping on physical items). The marketplace fee applies to the product only.
- 3
Sell
Buyers pick their country before paying. Whop calculates tax for that location on the payment screen.
Also your responsibility
- Income tax & reporting on your earnings — Seller Agreement.
- Physical goods — shipping quoted separately; the marketplace fee applies to the product price only.
- International physical orders — import customs/duties are buyer/seller responsibility.
- Collabs & agency splits — based on product subtotal after the marketplace fee, not tax lines.
